Core Idea
PLANTAZ is a digital game where the player takes care of plants in a hostile environment. Using the player's mental capacity (the main commodity of the game), they solve tasks and mini-games. Working with interactivity and gamification to educate about indoor plants. Learning to take care of things for a longer period of time, maintaining focus and staying on track. At the same time, finding a beneficial routine, sticking to it, and persevering, just like plants. Emphasizing that even negative routines or a comfortable life can be changed.
Global Context
The game highlights global issues. Plants are essential in the fight against desertification, i.e., the spread of deserts. Their root systems strengthen the soil, preventing erosion caused by wind, global problems with water scarcity, how plants can help with desertification and winds, and their roots capture acidity from melting glaciers.
Storyline
The game also has a simple storyline in which, after arrival, you help to colonize an arid planet with plants. Your main task is to get the terraforming station up and running and breed your own unique plant. You have to breed it by playing the game so that it can survive in harsh conditions. You improve its defensive, absorption, and reproduction functions. Your plant then protects you from waves of pests.
